WELCOME

Greetings

The Azerbaijan Teacher Development Centre (ATDC) is delighted to welcome you to the 2nd International Learning Conference: “Learning to Learn” on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 November and the Post Conference ‘Master Class’ Series on Saturday 18 November 2017. The Conference will be held at the European Azerbaijan School’s Secondary Campus in Badamdar.

This year’s conference will focus on Learning to learn. During the Conference participants will develop an understanding of what it means to learn, the difference between knowing and learning and what real learning looks like. Further, the Conference will examine what it means to think, how teachers can promote the development of skillful thinking and will help teachers develop an understanding of how the brain processes information to support improved learning outcomes for students.

The Conference brings two outstanding international Keynote speakers – Lane Clark (Canada) and Matt Bromley (UK) to Baku. Lane and Matt will inspire and encourage us to reflect on our classroom practice in the light of ongoing international research and understanding of thinking and learning.

Highly experienced international and local Azerbaijani educators and teachers will be presenting a diverse range of breakout workshops in support of our keynote speakers.

In addition to the professional learning and development experiences offered by world class educational leaders, the conference will provide opportunities for teachers from schools around Azerbaijan to meet together, to network and to share best practice.

On behalf of ATDC, I extend to you an invitation to attend this conference.

With best regards
Graeme Pollock
